This is the heart of Castello di Vicarello’s allure, the ancient stone kitchen. Central to the Castle’s intimate and convivial spirit, is also the perfect setting for our celebrated cooking classes. Owner Aurora Baccheschi Berti guides you through making fresh and seasonal recipes from her sumptuous cookbook ‘My Tuscan Kitchen’ using produce from the Castle’s vegetable gardens and locally sourced meat, fish and cheese.
Simple Italian food using locally sourced ingredients is the foundation and inspiration for all the meals we prepare. All of our vegetables are grown on the Estate and we use only organically raised meats and cheeses.
Enjoy an aperitivo watching the sun set over our travertine infinity pool or from our grassy terrace with its 360° view. Dine by candelight under a starry sky, the canopy of an ancient cypress or any other corner of our expansive grounds, lit only by lanterns or candles. We want you to experience perfection.
The fertile soils surrounding Castello di Vicarello only begin to tell the story of the four organic wines produced by owner Carlo Baccheschi Berti and son Brando. By virtue of the proximity to the sea, the composition of the soil, and the choice of cultivars, these two have a focussed dedication and passion for making elegant and ambrosial wines. Our wines are made using 100% of grapes grown on the Estate.
